Ai Beling Waterfall is a remarkable natural attraction often compared to the iconic Niagara Falls on the border of the United States and Canada. Located in Kuang Amo Hamlet, Sempe Village, Moyo Hulu District, this waterfall has long been known among local, national, and international travelers as one of Sumbawa’s most impressive natural landscapes.

One of Ai Beling’s greatest advantages is its easy accessibility. Visitors can reach the site conveniently by motorcycle or car. From Sumbawa Besar, the journey takes approximately one and a half hours, following the Sumbawa–Lunyuk main road before turning toward Sempe Village at the Berang Rea junction. Along the way, travelers are treated to scenic views dominated by lush forests and local plantations, offering a pleasant introduction to Sumbawa’s rural beauty.

About five minutes after passing the Berang Rea junction toward Sempe Village, visitors will find a left turn leading to Ai Beling Waterfall. From this point, it takes around ten more minutes to arrive at the destination.

Upon arrival, visitors are welcomed by an unspoiled natural atmosphere. The sounds of wild birds blend harmoniously with the soothing symphony of cascading water. According to local legend, the name Ai Beling means “Whispering Water,” a poetic reflection of the gentle yet powerful flow of the falls. This serene environment creates a perfect setting for photography, relaxation, and quiet reflection.
Ai Beling Waterfall offers a distinctive experience that enriches any journey to Tana Samawa, another name for Sumbawa Regency. Its natural charm, accessibility, and legendary atmosphere make it a destination that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor.
